“To achieve our sustainability target, we need a robust, efficient calculation tool that helps identify smart CO2 savings. We chose Plant because it can use 3D models for calculations, streamlining the work for project participants,” says Sandra Holmström, Sustainability Specialist at Fabege.

“Plant has also developed modules for simpler calculations of tenant adaptations and simplified early-stage calculations. We believe these will be very helpful in starting calculations early and involving tenants in reducing the CO2 footprint,” Sandra Holmström continues.

Since 1 January 2022, all new-build projects have been legally required to prepare a climate declaration. Fabege’s CO2 calculation guidelines go further than the legal requirements, covering more building components and life cycle stages, as well as refurbishments exceeding SEK 20 million.

“It is rewarding to sign another agreement with one of the property industry’s largest organisations. Fabege is showing determination in its sustainability journey. We carried out a couple of pilot projects that quickly led to this framework agreement. It is also encouraging that Fabege is investing in climate calculations for refurbishments, which neither legislation nor certifications require,” says Pelle Tunell, CEO of Plant.
