Julia Björkman, Business Developer in Estimating and Tendering at Serneke, has played a key role in the rollout. Together with her team and Plant, she has adapted our tool to Serneke’s specific needs. Julia highlights Plant’s user-friendly, clear presentation, which makes climate calculation work easier for project teams.

“What I like most about Plant is how clear and easy to understand it is. It makes it easier for our teams to get things right and optimise sustainable material choices.”

“What I like most about Plant is how clear and easy to understand it is. It makes it easier for our teams to get things right and optimise sustainable material choices,” says Julia. “We can easily see how material choices affect CO2 emissions, and hopefully that encourages more people in the company to work actively with climate calculations.”

Serneke employees will now access different views depending on their project role, from management overviews to detailed project and production views. These allow different stakeholders to adjust material choices and building systems to optimise project sustainability solutions.

Plant was launched alongside an update to Serneke’s operational management system (VLS) on 24 September. From that date, Plant became available throughout Serneke, with role-specific training provided through e-learning. This training gives Serneke’s teams the tools to make climate calculations a natural part of project work.

“With Plant, it becomes natural for us to count CO2 as well as money.”

Julia also sees business benefits:

“The tool strengthens our offering and helps us position ourselves as a leader in climate-smart solutions. Minimising CO2 emissions benefits the environment and also makes our tenders more competitive. With Plant, it becomes natural for us to count CO2 as well as money,” Julia concludes.

Pelle Tunell, co-founder and CEO of Plant, comments on the Serneke collaboration:

“We are proud that Serneke has chosen Plant to help lead the construction industry’s sustainable transition. Our collaboration demonstrates our solution’s potential and how climate calculations can become a natural part of the entire project process. Together, we make it easier to take informed decisions that reduce climate impact, and we look forward to continuing to advance sustainable construction projects.”

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Serneke and creating more sustainable construction projects together.
