The decision to switch to Calculate was not taken lightly. H2 Entreprenad carried out thorough groundwork and analysed the system in detail.

“We spent three to four months in discussions with Plant’s team, examining the details and building strong confidence in data quality,” explains Sanna Norén, Sustainability Director at H2 Entreprenad.

Traceability and transparency were decisive, as H2 wants to take responsibility and lead the way in reducing CO₂ impact in every project.

“Access to accurate climate data is extremely business-critical as requirements tighten and upper limits are introduced. Plant lets us see the raw data and understand how the figures connect. That matters for us, our clients and quality assurance,” says Rikard Hansson, CEO of H2 Entreprenad.

From in-house checking to trust

After years of calculations in Excel and frustration with other tools’ lack of precision and comparability, H2 Entreprenad has chosen Plant Calculate as a long-term solution.

“We tested other tools but found the final CO₂ figures did not add up. With Calculate, the technology is finally where it needs to be,” says Rikard.

In-house climate calculations have been time-consuming but necessary for comparing projects long before software was available, exploring solutions and learning early where H2 can achieve the most effective results and how it needs to influence its value chain.

“We used our own Excel solution, but maintaining it takes an enormous amount of time, and even more complexity lies ahead,” says Sanna.

Climate work advances when more people understand and contribute

Climate calculations are not an isolated company function. Twenty H2 Entreprenad employees will use Plant Calculate, from the sustainability director and buyers to project managers and the CEO.

“Knowledge should be spread throughout the organisation. We value how practical and understandable Calculate is for project managers and buyers, helping them understand the consequences of their choices,” says Rikard Hansson.

Calculate will also simplify client discussions through its client view and opportunities for regular project reviews.

“The client view supports clear reviews and lets clients follow the process, component by component, from early stages to follow-up. It will save everyone time,” says Sanna.
